“Weddings are only in the summer”.

A few days ago, I was discussing my job with my best friend and this is what she said to me: “Weddings are only in the summer. What are you going to do in winter? That’s a very good question… For you too, weddings are only in summer?

Why not consider a winter wedding?

Winter weddings are very original. The atmosphere is completely different from summer weddings. The organisation and constraints of winter weddings are not the same as in summer.

So what are the good reasons to get married in winter?

1. The availability of service providers

This season being low, you will have the choice of providers because at this period they are not much in demand. And those who are available are very motivated because they like winter weddings.

Their performance will be even better.

2. The images will be original

Snowy landscapes, ceremony in the snow, arrival by sled dog or carriage, wooden chalet, fire place…. All the details count.

Your photos will be different and unique.

3. A memory that will last forever

Your guests will remember it because it is not common. They will remember your original wedding.

4. You can get married and celebrate New Year’s Eve on the same day.

5. In good weather it will be magical.

Unlike the summer, when the weather is expected to be fine, in the winter, blue skies and sunshine are unexpected guests and add a touch of magic and joy to the day.

6. You won’t be too hot … or even too cold because there are many solutions for you and your guests to avoid being chilled and enjoy your wedding.

Here are a few ideas for spots in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region:

– A chalet in the middle of the ski slopes or lost in the mountains

– A ceremony with a view of the Mer de Glace

– In the Massif du Sancy, on the edge of a frozen volcanic lake.

– A hotel in one of the prestigious resorts of Savoie and Haute Savoie: Megève, Courchevel…etc
